Sean McMahon’s Western Union

I first spoke to Sean McMahon back in 2008 for Blues Magazine, Rhythms. At that time he was releasing a solo effort titled Welcome to Gippsland, which he joked was his answer to the Beach Boys California Girls. No, it didn’t really sound anything like California Girls, but I probably would have been disappointed if it had. Sean’s work, Welcome To Gippsland was a unique view of his life growing up in Gippsland and was a good listen in its own right. His latest release, LIVE AT THE LAST HOTEL is his 4th album and was written almost entirely on a beautiful antique ’30s Kay guitar he found in Venice, CA. Listening to him playing it in this week’s featured music video, it’s not hard to see why it became his soul mate. Check back soon to catch an interview with Sean on my podcast page.
